Sojourner Christian Academy, Inc. is the first private, Christian-based, College Preparatory School for Boys approved in 2003 by
the Maryland State Board of Education. By September 2004, an all girls Christian-based Preparatory School was opened by
Sojourner Christian Academy. This coming September will be our seventh year in operation.
We expect the school to grow to include many hundreds of students. It will include curricula for
5 – 12+ with separate classrooms for boys and girls. We emphasize math, science and language arts while carrying a Christian
ethic throughout the curricula.
Our curriculum permits students to advance approximately 1.5 academic years for each year of attendance. The school is and
will be split into upper and lower groups: K-4 and 5–12. We have higher achievement expectations : a 93 is required to qualify for
an A, and 92-83 qualifies as a B.
Bob Jones University, (BJU), is our integrated Christian curriculum. The school’s credentials and services are top-notch. The
curriculum is approved by the State of Maryland Board of Education and it includes the State’s School Performance Goals.
